We come across cool relics all the time, from vintage clothing to portraits to photo’s and family heirlooms. Another one of the unique finds are vintage postcards and many are from Florida since it has always been a tourist destination. We recently acquired an old box full of vintage postcards and many of them were depictions of Jacksonville. We decided to go on a mini tour of Jacksonville and compare the cards to certain landmarks in town, these are just a few.

Jacksonville has been a tourist destination for generations. Most every home in the early part of the 20th century had a postcard album holding greetings from near and far. Students presented them to teachers, and relatives used them to keep in touch at a distance.
