Sometimes doing it yourself is complicated. Rewiring your house? Better double check those diagrams. But sometimes the hardest part of doing it yourself is using your imagination. What can be done with a box of model airplane propellers? It’s certainly not a question of heavy lifting, but the brain needs exercise, too! Michael, a custom fabricator at Eco Relics, recently set his noggin to this very inquiry.
In three easy steps, the airplane propellers turned into a gorgeous wind-powered
ornament, perfect for a front porch or back patio.
- Finish the propellers with a water-sealing finish product.
- Fit propellers on a threaded rod, gluing each as you go.
- Hold the assembled ornament together with locking nuts and hang it up!
His creative answer is a great demonstration of the power of salvage to transform not only the elements used for construction, but also the minds of those who work with unique materials. Set your noggin on the wide variety of salvage at Eco Relics and see what you can do.
