What is Live edge slab lumber?
Live edge refers to the living part of the tree, the outer rings. The log is cut into slabs and the entire slab is used, leaving the natural edge.
Our inventory includes many species of live edge slabs to choose from. Some of which may include Camphor, Sycamore, Walnut, Elm, Cherry, Maple, and Aromatic Cedar, to name just a few. We also have a huge stock of Domestic and Exotic Hardwoods.
Live edge slabs are ideal for counter tops, bar tops, tabletops, benches, desks, headboards, shelving, and cutting boards. An excellent example would be a Live Edge slab table. You’re limited only by your imagination.
Live edge furniture is often sought after for its organic, unique beauty, and is perfect for adding that special touch to an otherwise ordinary space. Live edge slab lumber can be used to help soften the lines in a space that might otherwise be filled with the cold, straight lines.
As well as stocking many species of live edge slab lumber, we also have our own Saw mill operation and a Custom Wood shop where our skilled craftsmen can build one of a kind furnishings entirely from slabs or in combination with many different types of new and reclaimed lumber or building materials.
