New Years Day 2017 Celebration to benefit Rethreaded

New Years Day Celebration to benefit Rethreaded

Every couple of months we like to throw fundraising events here at our 50,000 square foot warehouse, located at 106 Stockton Street in Jacksonville, Florida. We like to call them “Eco Gives Back events”, but most people just call them down right fun! In the past, we’ve helped raise money for a number of local charities through these family friendly fun events.

Past events include our “Fall Fling to Benefit Best Buddies“, an organization that helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and “Waste Not Want Not” an organization that provides food to the hungry.

We will be starting off the New Year right by having another great party, to benefit another great organization!

rethreaded-logo_medOn Sunday, January 1st, 2017 we’re throwing a fundraising party to benefit Rethreaded, which is a “social entrepreneurship that is breaking the cycle of the sex trade by offering viable and creative work to those affected by the sex trade. We are fighting the business of the sex trade with business. We believe that the sex trade can steal a person’s identity, worth, and value. We seek to be an organization that offers a chance for people to experience, learn, and grow into the fullness of who they are.” Rethreaded has changed the lives of hundreds if not thousands of people who have been slaves to the human trafficking underworld.

“Rethreaded started with a simple idea, and a strong passion from it’s founder Kristin Keen. Beginning by forming relationships with women on the street and making prison visits, she knew the biggest need was for a safe, supportive work environment where these women could earn money while learning a skill and experiencing continued healing through community.”

We will also have the LifeSouth Community Blood Centers blood mobile on site. All blood donors will receive a recognition item! **Blood Mobile arrives at 12:00.

Our Food truck line up includes: Big Oak BBQ Middleburg, The Flaming Delight Cafe and Tikiz of Jacksonville Beach… Live music provided by local favorites, Dancing Bear.

So come on out, have some fun, donate blood and help donate to a great organization! While you’re here, you’ll be able to tour our massive warehouse, which most people say is a thrill and generally takes a couple of hours, and purchase vintage, antiques and cool relics, with a portion of the proceeds going directly to Rethreaded! More details available on our Facebook Events page here.
