Not every home remodel has to stick to the adage “out with the old.” For local Interior Designer Kamila Malewska of Level Up Design, it’s often a mix of Something Old and Something New that helps to create a special space. Something Old meets something new in this elegant living room makeover.

“It all started with a simple idea of creating interior that will combine husband’s rustic and industrial taste with wife’s mid-century modern style. I, as a designer, wanted this house to be open, suited for entertaining and spending time together but also unique and matching this amazing family’s lifestyle.”

“From the moment I started to draw initial kitchen layout, I knew I wanted to incorporate some reclaimed wood. I took my client Tom to go with me to Eco Relics to select some wood material for his kitchen’s shelves.”

“While wandering in Eco Relic’s warehouse, he spotted a table top created by wood shop for another client. I saw how Tom looked at the table. If you only could measure love by “wood knots”…

“We ended up spending some time with (Wood shop Manager) Billy Leeka drawing our ideas and selecting finishes. What started with few chunky wood boards exploded into something bigger.

Not only did we order shelves for kitchen but also dining table and oversized barn doors. It all turned out amazing. Billy exceeded our expectations!”
